After grease ducts are clean and safe, the next step is to keep them that way. For best results, we offer the Grease Lock Filter System.
Safe Dux helps reduce hood cleanings by up to 75%! While most vent hood filters collect some airborne grease, it typically is no more than 25%. The rest passes into the hood, flue, fan and rooftop.
Grease Lock Filters, however, capture up to 98% airborne grease, reducing the need for hood cleaning by up to 75%.
With traditional hood cleaning, the exhaust system starts accumulating grease the day after a kitchen exhaust cleaning and keeps accumulating grease throughout the system until it is cleaned again.
With Grease Lock filters, grease is trapped in the filter cartridge which can be safely disposed of as regular trash. Once a new, clean filter cartridge is placed in the filter, the system continues to collect grease in the new filter cartridge.
Grease Lock is especially important in facilities such as airports, high-rise buildings, hospitals or anywhere there is a complex exhaust system. Many times, these buildings have complex horizontal and vertical ductwork that can be extremely difficult to access for cleaning. So this leads to areas of the exhaust system being left uncleaned. Over time, this creates hardened, baked-on grease that will not come off using traditional cleaning methods which significantly increasing the fire hazard risk.

Please note: Safe Dux cannot install the Grease Lock System in kitchens that burn solid fuel for cooking heat, as they are incompatible.

Safe Dux Grease Lock Filter System Services Do Not Include
- Safe Dux will not include repairs for electronic hood components
- Safe Dux will not include repairs for leaks in the roof, grease duct, or hood systems
- Safe Dux will not include repairs of pre-existing grease or pressure washer damage to roofs
- Safe Dux will not include exhaust fan repairs or replacement units. Note: Safe Dux can provide exhaust fan repairs or replacements at an additional cost
- Safe Dux will not include fire suppression inspections or service. Although we can do both. Note: Safe Dux can provide fire suppression inspections and service (on an additional contract)
Benefits of Grease Lock Filter System
Decreases fire risk
Grease Lock Filters collect up to 98% of airborne grease in disposable cartridges in the kitchen hood. When the cartridges are full, they are disposed of as regular trash. This means little to no grease buildup in areas previously labeled "Inaccessible."
Decreases required hood cleanings
Hood cleanings do not prevent grease buildup. The day after a cleaning, grease starts building up again in inaccessible areas. With Grease Lock it doesn't. And in most cases, only one hood cleaning per year is required after installing Grease Lock. This nearly eliminates all of the headaches associated with hood cleanings. Especially with tenants above kitchens and surrounding businesses.
